World Down Syndrome Day Crew Socks
Our World Down Syndrome Day Crew Socks were created to celebrate people with Down syndrome. John’s Crazy Socks created these socks in collaboration with the National Down Syndrome Society and Down Syndrome International.
We conducted an international sock design competition where any individuals with Down syndrome and their families were invited to submit a sock design and the winning design was created by Emma Wanek of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey!
The design, in the classic blue and yellow colors that signify Down syndrome awareness, not only declares that individuals with Down syndrome are rock stars, but also feature the 3-21 date on the top band. March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day – the day on which global awareness of Down syndrome is promoted. The theme of World Down Syndrome Day 2024 is “End the Stereotypes”!
Did you know? John’s Crazy Socks was co-founded and inspired by John Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome. John is an excellent example of how people with Down syndrome can become successful entrepreneurs and “end the stereotypes” about differing abilities.
We donate 10% from the sale of every pair of these socks to support Down syndrome awareness. The money goes to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) and Down Syndrome International (DSI).
